REVIEW: TRAPT - REBORN 1/30/2013
Gweedo

Trapt just released their fifth studio album, REBORN. This is a great accomplishment for the band since it was independently released by them. Though it was slightly delayed, it was worth the wait. It fits nicely into their discography and has some awesome songs on it. You can tell the music is unrestricted with the lyrical content and the overall tracks sound. There was no one forcing radio hits and proves that a band can produce solid singles. If Trapt has success with this album and continues this path, the title REBORN is very justified. The deluxe version has 17 tracks with a couple repeat songs performed acoustically. It adds a nice touch to the CD since some songs are a challenge to get to sound right acoustically and often brings out hidden melodies.

REVIEW: NONPOINT, CANDLELIGHT RED, & DIGITAL SUMMER 1/26/2013
Contributor - Erin H.

Every once in a while, the Rock Gods will bless those of us that live in Southern Colorado and bring a good show to Colorado Springs, so those of us down here don’t have to drive all the way up to Denver. Saturday night’s show brought us Florida’s Nonpoint, Pennsylvania’s Candlelight Red, and Arizona’s Digital Summer to the Black Sheep. For anyone who has never been to the Black Sheep, it is a tiny venue with a max capacity of 400 people and definitely gives you that “dive bar” feel. It’s a great venue to get up close with the bands that play there, and it has cheap bar prices. Tickets are usually significantly cheaper than the Denver shows, with this night’s being $12 in advance and $14 at the door.  The venue started out only about a third full and was about half full by the time Nonpoint came on. So, it wasn’t too crowded, but I was expecting more people with a bigger band on a Saturday night.

Strip The Stars
REVIEW: TRAPT, ACIDIC, THE ACTION BLAST, & STRIP THE STARS 1/21/2013

A Monday night show is a hard sell, but the Marquis Theater managed to put together a lineup that got people off their couch and dragging into work the next day. They hosted Trapt, ACIDIC, The Action Blast, and Strip The Stars. Even though Trapt was the only band I had previously heard of, it turned out to be a fun, rocking show. If you’ve never been to a concert at the Marquis, it is a very intimate venue. It holds 500 people and has an awesome pizza joint in it. The stage is a little low and lighting isn’t the best, but it is cool to be close to some of your favorite bands.
