REVIEW: IN THIS MOMENT, ALL THAT REMAINS, HELLYEAH, NONPOINT, & LOLA BLACK 3/26/2013

Tuesday night featured a sold out show at The Fillmore Auditorium. How was this accomplished? By hosting the hardest rocking show thus far this year, then taking said show and only charging $10.67! In This Moment, All That Remains, Hellyeah, Nonpoint, and Lola Black put on an awesome show for people on a budget. As if that wasn’t good enough, they also made the offer that if you went to a locally owned record store and bought one of the line up’s CDs, you would get a free preshow Meet and Greet. That was totally worth it. They let you in an hour early, the bands were lined up, and they ran you through to get signatures but no photos. Hellyeah and In This Moment handed out little posters to get signed. I grabbed one of the posters for In This Moment, had Hellyeah sign my CD cover, and Nonpoint sign my ticket. In hindsight, the ticket signing wasn’t the smartest idea because they sent us back outside to wait for doors and still needed to scan the ticket. Luckily, you could still read the numbers on the barcode and all was well. Surprisingly, not very many people took advantage of this Meet and Greet for a sold out show. I gave away one Meet and Greet by walking down the line, and people looked at me like I was crazy. Finally, one adventurous soul took it and was ecstatic throughout! There wasn’t much information on where to go for the Meet and Greet, but it wasn’t too hard to figure out if you just asked one of the staff. Unfortunately for some, they waited too long and missed it. It took about 25 mins to get through everyone. All the bands were very happy to meet the fans and appreciated them coming to the greet.

REVIEW: SHINEDOWN, THREE DAYS GRACE, & P.O.D. 3/25/2013

1stBank Center hosted an awesome concert featuring Shinedown, Three Days Grace, and P.O.D. There were very few people to start out, but it was a fairly early concert. It also is not the best drive for most people. It is a nice brother venue to Pepsi Center, but it is out of the way. There was a lot of merchandise at the show for all the bands. The highlight though was Shinedown selling their latest CD, Amaryllis, plus a Meet & Greet after the show for $20. It is a great price for a great CD, if you did not already have it, when you marry it with meeting the band. Three Days Grace had a Meet & Greet before the show that I heard was very rushed and ran late.

REVIEW: EVE 6 - SPEAK IN CODE 3/15/2013

I know this album has been out for almost a year, but I don’t think it is getting the attention it deserves. There’s always skepticism when a band breaks up for a while and comes back together. Are they going to be the same? Are they going to stay together? Will they still have that same magic? Skeptics and questions were silenced with three words, Speak In Code. After an eight year break, the Eve 6 originals entered the studio and produced this gem. The album is a spectacular addition to their discography. It seems that the break energized the band and it shows. At the core, you can hear the old Eve 6 that we all came to know and love, but just as we all matured, so have they and their sound.  There is a lot more production put into their new songs; it really enhances the tracks and is not over done. I consider it one of those bad day therapy CD’s. Put this through your speakers, and your problems start melting away. Eve 6 take relatable problems and back them with an awesome beat. Every song is unique, refreshing, and never lets up.
