REVIEW: BUCKCHERRY, AUTUMN BURN, & RED TIDE RISING - 5/27/2015
Gweedo

To the delight of many, Summit Music Hall hosted the rescheduled Buckcherry show! The original took place a few weeks prior with local bands Resonance and Lola Black. Unfortunately Buckcherry frontman, Josh Todd, was fighting a cold and had to bow out only three songs in. This time around attendees rocked out to Red Tide Rising, Autumn Burn, and Buckcherry. The shame was that not enough tickets were sold to open up the balcony. Red Tide Rising had some great merchandise and stuck around their booth all night making themselves known. What I really liked about their booth was that they had a cool signed drumhead and custom guitar picks. These are things that most local bands don’t get into. Buckcherry also had good merchandise out. With this tour, Buckcherry was offering Meet & Greets. Even with that they came out and signed any CDs you bought. Really nice guys that were happy to meet and have a short chat with their fans. Some signed drumheads sold quickly at their booth as well. I was disappointed that Autumn Burn didn’t bring any merchandise out. That’s a good way to make a little extra change at a gig.

REVIEW: MUSHROOMHEAD, ONE-EYED DOLL, UNSAID FATE, IONIA, & ELETE 12/7/2013

Dear Mushroomhead,

Please plan your next Colorado concert in temperatures above freezing. Thanks.

This concert was the longest 30 min. I have stood in a line at Summit Music Hall. Last I saw, it was three degrees while the dedicated waited to see Mushroomhead, One-Eyed Doll, UnSaid Fate, Ionia, & ELETE. One-Eyed Doll walked down the line talking to people and handing out stickers. There was a good merchandise area where all the bands were peddling their wares. Mushroomhead had a lot with shoes, a wall of shirts, vinyl’s, and CDs. Everything was reasonably priced, and you got a free poster to get signed with a purchase. There were very few people to start and the balcony was closed. This was a very special night celebrating Mushroomhead’s 20th anniversary.  JMann was performing with the band and returned to Denver after nine years.

REVIEW: THE DARKNESS & HELL OR HIGHWATER 2/1/2013
Gweedo

Summit Music Hall hosted an awesome show – The Darkness and Hell Or Highwater. This got a lot of people to show up only for two bands. Last time The Darkness came through, the place sold out. I don’t believe it happened again, but I feel like it got close. The two bands were a little odd together because Hell Or Highwater is a heavier while The Darkness is very eccentric, but they were both fun. There seemed to be a good mix of age groups in the crowd from teen to 50’s. It would have been cool to have a little band playing on the stage in the new Moon Room while people were coming in.

REVIEW: THE EPILOGUES, DARLING THIEVES, MY BODY SINGS ELECTRIC, AND TAKE TO THE OARS 10/6/2012

Summit Music Hall hosted a CD release party for The Epilogues. They invited Darling Thieves, My Body Sings Electric, and Take to the Oars to share the evening with them. There was a great fan turn out, and all the bands had merchandise out. The crowd was a younger crowd despite the age of the performers – mostly late teens to early 20’s. All the bands were friends and very supportive of each other. The atmosphere was upbeat and positive. My only qualm was that the lighting of the show was awful, as you can tell with the pictures. I refuse to use flash out of respect for the artist, so I did the best I could.

REVIEW: BUCKCHERRY, LIT, & CHARM CITY DEVILS 10/1/2012
Gweedo

Monday night provided a great show at a great venue. Buckcherry, Lit, and Charm City Devils rocked the little walls of Summit Music Hall; a stellar line up for such a small venue. Charm City Devils was an excellent late add to the show. The crowd was small with it being a late Monday night, and the balcony was closed most of the show. More people showed up by the time Buckcherry went out, and everyone had a great time. It was interesting to see a wide range of ages showing up.

Cute animal costumes —wielding instruments – pummeling each other – and singing death metal. This was the start of your $5 Tuesday night entertainment. Summit Music Hall hosted Extreme Turbo Smash, No 1 Left Standing, Texas Hippie Coalition, and Charm City Devils. For the price, you just can’t beat this show. It was very entertaining and a great turn out for a Tuesday night.
