REVIEW: BUCKCHERRY, LIT, & CHARM CITY DEVILS 10/1/2012
Gweedo

Monday night provided a great show at a great venue. Buckcherry, Lit, and Charm City Devils rocked the little walls of Summit Music Hall; a stellar line up for such a small venue. Charm City Devils was an excellent late add to the show. The crowd was small with it being a late Monday night, and the balcony was closed most of the show. More people showed up by the time Buckcherry went out, and everyone had a great time. It was interesting to see a wide range of ages showing up.

Charm City Devils should really consider moving to Denver. This is their 5th time to perform in Colorado this year alone! They have a big following here. As an opener, they seemed really rushed. This is understandable since they have so many great songs and have to get off the stage for the next band. It would have been nice to start the show earlier and mitigate it. Beyond that, they were great as always with a lot of energy and some good music. They really got the job done filling the opener position.

I haven’t really heard from Lit in a while, and this was my first time seeing them live. They had great sound for only having three instruments and a singer. They moved all around the stage. Lead singer, A. Jay Popoff knows how to party like a rock star – hitting bottles of Jaeger and wine on stage was impressive. After their set, they hung out to sign their new CD and watch Buckcherry. They also hinted at a headlining tour coming next year.

I’ve seen Buckcherry numerous times and went on a cruise with them. This band is awesome. It was quite a thrill to see them in this small venue. It was very intimate. More people came in by the time of their set, and attractive women cheered from the balcony. They sounded really good and had great stage presence. You could tell that the thin mountain air was not being kind to them, but it did not stop lead singer, Josh Todd, from being very active. They announced they should have a new CD out in February and graced us with an encore set. I have yet to see these guys have a bad performance. The stage is just gleaming with talent whenever they are on.

Summit Music Hall put on another awesome show. The bands did a great job entertaining. I really suggest you catch this show when it comes through your town.
